Obviously in advance for their first-time journey to "down under" TLwG 74 presented a new special coloured Eurofighter GS these days with 31+11 is showing the Australian and Japanese flags on the wings and some kind of "Rapid Pacific 2022" inscription. Six aircrafts will deploy in August for "Pitch Black 2022" and later for some more visits to the Pacific region.
Hi all,
Do someone know if there is still the possibility to take pictures from outside the base? A friend told me local police is pushing people away from the road around the runway
On 15.08. around 16.30h eight Eurofighters of TLwG 74 departed Neuburg and met over southern Germany with A.330-200MRTT T-054, T-056 and T-058 of KLu/MMU as supporting tankers.
Air spares were 31+02 and 31+28 which returned over the Adriatic leaving 30+45, 30+72, 30+81, 30+93, 31+11 (special c/s) and 31+13 to make the trip to Darwin/Australia.
The first stop will be at Al Dhafra/Abu Dhabi which the formation should reach on late Monday.
This morning T-056 "MMF25" left Al Dhafra again and landed at Changi again, while T-058 "MMF11" left Darwin on it's way to Changi!
Seen plotting above Singapore was 'GAFN68F"..
The westbound 54+08 was one of a number of Lw A400s transiting my area yesterday, Friday.
Interestingly, to me, the Eurofighters landed in Abu Dhabi around 21z, and were off again around 3z, perhaps extra crews were already in place?

The idea was to demonstrate they could deploy to the Pacific region within 24 hours, so its interesting to see whether crews were deployed forward to reach this goal or not.
In an interview on German TV, a Luftwaffe General stated that, despite the fact that one Eufi was delayed, all goals were reached. The amount of 6 aircraft was not specified in these goals.
