“Ghost plane" crash OE-FGR 04-09-22

Post by frank kramer »

According to FR24 and other media (like this one in Dutch: https://www.telegraaf.nl/nieuws/2131557 ... en-oostzee), Ce551 OE-FGR's ads-b signal was lost over sea near the Baltic States today. The plane was on a trip from Jerez in Spain to Cologne in Germany, but continued on a north-eastern heading until it disappeared from ads-b coverage near Ventspils. Developing story. Question: no German QRA during the weekend?

Rescue teams have located the wreckage. The SAR efforts are now being taken over by Latvia.

Swedish aircraft continue to assist. A Latvian rescue helicopter and SAR vessel are also deployed.

I saw this happen 'live' on ADS-B because I was triggered by EA01 going up from Laage. They intercepted the Cessna about 100km SW of Laage at FL360. German media report that based on Luftwaffe messages, the Luftwaffe still had planes on site when the Cessna went down.

RIP.
