Are the Top Aces operating out of the civilian area? And is it easy to read/ photograph all aircraft at Nordholz during such a day?

yes, Top Aces from civil ramp. Photography is no problem but it was a rare exception that they (MFG 3 and 5) fly that good and I still do not know whey this did on that date.

Due to missing spare parts no MFG 5 Sea King is available and so could not hold the SAR standby at Heligoland, Borkum or Hohe Düne. The Bundespolizei (Federal Police) at Bad Bramstedt/Fuhlendorf is holding SAR at 15min. standby now during day times (5-14h z) and 60 min. at all other times until at least August 1st.

Today 2 UH-60s arrived at Nordholz. Duke14 (20-21128) and Duke52 (20-21132).
Supposed to stay until the end of the week, for SAR practice over the Northsea.

Duke52 just departed Nordholz for a local flight of about 1,5 hours. (edit, I thought I heard both, but Duke52 returned as a single just now)

The Blackhawks left around noon today. They both flew several missions over the Northsea during this week, all in the dark, up until almost 23:00 local.

With the scheduled wfu date of the Sea King Mk.41 is coming closer, a spotterday for August 2023 is planned.

Most likely a last special coloured Sea King will appear, with that many different special colours in the past with hardly two dozen helis perhaps it will be time for a seventies retro look!
