47-3972 P-51
52-9640 T-33A

With runway 29R/L in use, I spend most of my time on E Aircorp Road waiting for the action. When the four F-15s were ready for departure for their morning wave, I drove up to N Winery Avenue for some shots. Afterwards I parked at the Animal Center and walked up to the Army for some pics from the building in the turn. The very nice hills on the north side on N Cargo Lane are off limits as this is military terrain. I was advised by the Airport Authorities to only spot at the top floor of the parking garage. When positioning there, the distance to the runway was way too far. In hindsight it was better to stand in the runway and park at E Aircorp Road or in E Lamona Avenue and walk to the landing. The F-15s landed on the 29R and taxied via the north via taxi way C. A good spot could be the crash gate south of the Air Attack base as they taxi and park there to cross the runway. A good position for take off shots is the parking of Technic Air at E Shields Avenue in the turn. However no second flight was performed by the CAANG.

If both were in the same glossy scheme, the other was most likely N685DN which we noted here in October.
