Boeing will deliver the very last 747 next Tuesday (January 31). The transfer of the aircraft to Atlas Air is shown by the aircraft manufacturer via a live stream.
The last 747 is a -8F and number 1,574 since production started in 1967. Atlas Air will place the order for the last four 747s in January 2021. The aircraft that is now being delivered rolled out of the assembly hall in Everett in December and has since been given a white coat of paint. With a sticker on the nose, Boeing and Atlas Air pay tribute to Joe Sutter, the designer of the 747.
The ceremony in Seattle will be attended next week by thousands of guests, including former Boeing employees and suppliers and customers. The ceremony starts at 10 p.m. Dutch time and can be followed on Vimeo.
