With ABC it is mentioned this was indeed a split load. One possible theory for the cause of this crash, especially in such a case, is target fixation. Juan Browne explains this here. The apparent sliding onto the terrain can be consistent with that but once again, it is just a theory at this point. JB also asks the question 'what are we protecting here' but from ABC the fire (now?) indeed seems to threaten critical infrastructure.
