On April 3, 2023, the fourth example of the Saab GlobalEye reconnaissance, surveillance, early warning and command and control aircraft (AEW&C) took off on its maiden flight in Linköping, Sweden.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the launch customer of the GlobalEye system
and has ordered a total of five units from Saab in two tranches.

Sweden has also ordered two aircraft of this type.

With the GlobalEye, Saab also wants to apply to the NATO tender for a successor to the Boeing E-3 Sentry.
