Tentera Nasinal Indonesia-Angkatan Udara B737-200 AI-7304 damaged/written-off in landing incident today,
Indonesian Air Force Boeing 737 series 200 aircraft reportedly derailed at Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport, Mimika Regency, Central Papua. The Air Force said there were no casualties in the incident.
"There were no casualties for the incident," said Yohanis Kapiyau Air Force Commander Lt. Col. Slamet Suhartono when asked for confirmation by detikcom, Monday (17/4/2023).
The Boeing 200 series aircraft skidded when it was about to land, Monday (17/4) at around 19:00 WIT. The plane reportedly flew on the route from Jakarta to Ambon, then to Timika, Mimika Regency.
The plane reportedly skidded to the end of the runway at Mozes Kilangin Airport Timika. Currently, airport officials and the TNI are carrying out evacuation efforts.
"We are currently evacuating from the end of the airport to the airport apron," he said.
