News regarding rebuilt Fokker D21 (PH-XXI)/"229"

In its final day(s), the crowdfunding action for returning a Fokker D21 (albeit in replica form) to the skies is still somewhat short of its target.. The well-known Dutch restorator Van Egmond has been working on this project at Hoogeveen airport for several years and it is close to completion. Any financial help obviously much appreciated..!

And actually, according to the Dutch regulatory authorities, 229 is NOT a replica. Because it has been built according to the exact drawings and procedures -and using the same materials- as the pre-war D.21's (and incorporates a substantial number of original parts), it is labeled a 'rebuild'.
