Wednesday 17th of May we (me and my son) had a nice base visit at Casement Baldonell, home of the Irish Air Corps (IAC). As done earlier (before Corona) it was done in one day; Flight with Ryanair from Amsterdam 10:15 hours and arrival at Dublin airport. Pick up rental car and drive to the center of Dublin for a nice lunch with beer. 14:00 hours we arrived at Baldonell. The guard was suprised that there were only 2 persons (he was expecting two busses with Dutch people . Our guide first took us to the nice museum of the IAC. Some pictures;
Behind the museum an other nice Cessna 172;
Then to the main hangar with the newest PC-12;
Several aircraft with special markings from the 100 year anniversary in 2022;
In the main hanger one of the two CN235 MPA (the new C295 will arrive later this year, reason to go again
Then to the other hangars with the AW139 (one inside and one outside and the others in maintenance Belgium;
Then to the PC-9M hangar (5 inside and one flying);
Outside some pictures;
At the end we said goodbye to our friendly guide and drove to the airport for our flight back home 18:55 hours and arrived on time at Schiphol airport Amsterdam 21:22 hours. In and out in one day. Great day and always nice to see and photograph the small but very nice Air Corps of Ireland. Many Thanks to the IAC.
