Swiss Air Force will fly Global 7500

BERN – The Swiss Lufttransportdienst des Bundes (LTDB) will have access to a Bombardier Global 7500 business jet in 2025.
The aircraft will be procured
for emergency relief in environmental and humanitarian emergencies,
transport of negotiating delegations,
support of Swiss embassies and
evacuations and air transport for magistrates
(members of the Federal Council, Federal Chancellor, members of the Federal Courts and Federal Prosecutor)
The purchase is worth USD 109 million.
For that amount, the Swiss not only get the business jet,
but the aircraft is also equipped with a military radio system,
a self-protection system,
ground material and spare parts.
When the device arrives in 2025, the Excel 560XL will be put on display.
The replacement of the Falcon 900EX will be reconsidered at a later date
due to the current financial situation of the Swiss defense budget.
The service currently has
a Cessna Citation Excel 560XL from 2002
and a three-engined Dasssault Falcon 900EX from 2008.
Previously it also flew with a Pilatus PC-24.
However, that device was sold in 2022 because there was too little transport demand for it.
