C-130 restaurant in Batang Kali

Post by witje »

In Batang Kali (Malaysia) a C-130 (two pieces) is in use as a restaurant. It looks like there are no markings on the outside according to the pictures. 3-bladed propellors could also be seen on some pictures, so probably a C-130A. Does someone know the ID of this frame?

Fuselage sections came from Subang, so that should limit the potential a little. Might be civilian as well. But so far no ID yet.
As far as I know there are no wings with it, so not sure if the prop came from the same plane.

And apparantly they have caught the airplane restaurant virus in Malaysia as well. Recently a B737 was also dragged into the jungle to become a restaurant near Sungai Lembing (though no fix on the exact location yet) and they have converted a B747 tot an outlet shopping mall in Malacca. Crazy stuff...

Visited the site today but restaurant was closed. The cockpit received a red nose cone.

According to a FB group where I asked the same question, it are two different frames. The cockpit is from an earlier E model and the main fuselage is from a H model. According to Ian Carroll there was a Tunesian C-130H TS-MTA/Z21011 at Subang for many years. This one should be repaired with the cockpit section of USAF C-130E 63-7803, but apparently never happened. So these are very good candidates.
