The Unlimited Sea Fury Dreadnaught suffered a mayday during Tuesday's Unlimited qualifying session.
Pilots are briefed and practice intensely for these events
and Race #8's Pilot handled the mayday masterfully.

The airplane is safely on the ground and the Pilot is safe.
Race Team #8 qualified at 441 mph.

I saw it in the pits Friday morning lined up with the other Sea Furies without knowing about the Tuesday incident. Just by looking at it you'd never know it was inoperable. Later in the day the air show announcer mentioned it and also said there was a working engine in Florida, but not enough time +$$$ to get the plane working by Sunday. ...and as we now know, the Unlimiteds never got to race Sunday.
