The Defense Ministry said two crew members who were on board the $50 million fighter jet
were able to safely eject from the aircraft
before it crashed at around 10 a.m. local time.

Officials said the supersonic jet crashed "while performing a scheduled training flight" without ammunition,
and that the cause of the crash could have been a technical malfunction.

According to data compiled by Newsweek last month,
more than a fifth of Russia's known manned aircraft and helicopter losses
since Moscow launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022
have not been due to enemy action.

This is a developing story and it will be updated when further information becomes available.

Yes

02-12 Su-34 05 red RF-95806 2011 2021 Voronezh VVS cam ex Mi-8

This aircraft was before the Ukrainan war based at Voronezh.
Normally before the war was two squadrons or 24 Su-34 based at Voronezh-Baltimor.

Now is 1 squadron or 12 Su-34 based at Voronezh-Baltimor.
Total is around 24 aircraft based at Voronezh. The rest of the 24 is Su-30SM or Su-35.

The other Su-34 is written off or circulating at other bases in area.
