An insider told Wiltshire 999s that the attack chopper fell onto its side before sliding along the airfield, which is located just over the county border in Hampshire.

The British Army’s newest Apache helicopter has been blown over in heavy winds.
The Apache AH-64E attack helicopter, which was declared “ready for front-line duty” by the Army in October 2023, was knocked onto its side while stationary at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire.
It is understood no one was injured during the incident and that all other aircraft remained undamaged.
An Army ambulance was pictured at the scene earlier on Tuesday afternoon.
Defence sources told The Telegraph that it is believed to be the first time an Apache has been blown over.
