Luckily, flying with the T-34s started early on Super Saturday (the trade-in working day to compensate for Chinese New Year), so we had a lot of ground to cover today and did not wait for the AT-3s to start flying.

Plus gigantuous amounts of preserved aircraft, the Chinese New Year period being ideal for those obviously.

best regards, Wim & Erwin

Hi Erwin,

Nice LOG! Can you confirm Apache 807 still carried its special red (OPFOR) markings?

Hi Edwin,
It was parked quite close by and although we focussed on reading the numbers, and although these were seen tail-on, I cannot imagine we would have overlooked this kind of paint. So I think not anymore.

Thanks for this interesting log! I'm surprised that the F-5's were still at Taitung, because I'd read that all of them had been withdrawn, except for the RF-5's at Hualien.

How's photography nowawadays in Taiwan with the ever increasing fear for an invasion by China?
Greetz,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,
You are welcome. I think quite a bunch of the F-5s are either kept in active reserve or were being prepared for storage. At Taitung they did not fly with them, just powered them up.
No issues with photography during the whole trip. I hope it remains like that, because twenty years ago during my previous visit, it was made quite impossible.

Erwin
