Hello everyone
Last month I visited for the 1st time Castelo Branco (Portugal) aerodrome. There's not much going on here but on the 11th of May the annual Beiras Airshow took place and that drawn a lot of GA aircraft. The Portuguese Air Force was also present with a DHC-1 Chipmunk and a C-295.
Noteworthy about Castelo Branco airfield is that Dassault has opened a scrapping facility here. First "client" is Falcon 900, c/n 13, N297AP : https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/11262860. This aircraft was indeed present inside an hangar belonging to the local Aero Club, missing its engines, landing gear, registration and had to had its tail cut off to be tucked in inside the hangar. There're plans for Dassault to have its own hangar.
Back to the airshow, visiting aircraft start arriving between 1000 and 1130. I, like other spotters who registered themselfs as such, had the oportunity to be on a special location closer to the runway and the taxiway that was used for getting access to the apron. The 1st photo was however takn from the control tower.
All in all, there was plenty of sunshine to take photos of the many aircraft that visited Castelo Branco for this event. It was well organized and spotters were well taken care of.
