Plane crashed and caught fire on highway A58

A small plane crashed on the A58 near Rucphen on Wednesday afternoon.

The aircraft then caught fire.

There are many debris on the road from Breda towards Bergen op Zoom.

The highway towards Bergen op Zoom is therefore closed.

The plume of smoke could be seen for miles around. There is still debris on the road.

It is still unclear what exactly happened and why the plane crashed, the Safety Region reports. Many emergency services are on site.

Ik heb FR24 even teruggekeken en op het tijdstip van de crash was de PH-BAN op dit locatie. De wingtip van dit toestel lijkt overeenkomstig de wingtip op de foto op Telegraaf.

The track on FR24 shows the plane was on final approach just after take off like it was returning immediately after take off.

It was PH-BAG which did not show up on FR24 at that moment. Latest location for that one on ADSB is exactly the crash location.
BAN was performing touch&go's at the same moment and landed immediately after the crash.
