A near collision between a drone and a commercial aircraft near Gemert-Bakel and Laarbeek.

Media maker Menno Swart reports an incident on his X account on Thursday, August 22 (yesterday).

He posts an audio recording in which the pilot of a Wizz Air passenger plane
reports to Eindhoven Airport air traffic control
that he sees a drone flying less than 100 meters away from his aircraft.

The Airbus A320 is currently at an altitude of 1,400 meters in the airspace above Gemert-Bakel/Laarbeek on its way to landing at Eindhoven Airport.

The Ministry of Defense has confirmed the incident.
The Ministry of Defense confirms that the incident took place.

“After the report, a subsequent Wizz aircraft, which would fly over the same area a few minutes later, was warned.

The pilot of that plane did not see the drone again.

If the drone had still been present, the Aviation Police would have responded.

It is therefore not known who owned the drone and who controlled the device.”

It is common for drones to come too close to aircraft.
“It is a growing problem that poses serious security risks,” said a ministry spokesperson.
