Post by Freeman Lowell »

The routing and content for the flypast has been released.

All we need now is for the weather to co-operate.

Full formations 100-150mm full frame, individual airframes 400+ mm
I stood at the Atocha trainstation @ high ground. Go there early as police will block of when it gets crowded.

Air Force, Navy, police and gvmt agencies fly from Cuatro.
Guardia Civil helicopters from Torrejon.
Army not known. Last year they flew from Colmenar, 2022 from Cuatro.

Great photos, Flyboy! I don't think that location would work for this year's flypast though, would it?

I haven't attended a Dia de Hispanidad flypast before - can anyone suggest a good spot from which to photograph this year's route, please? Thank you!

Apologies, my error, this location would of course work, I misread the map :(

Whereabouts near the station is the high ground you mentioned please, Flyboy? Thank you very much

Thank you very much, Starman. Looks like you mean the gate of the fallen Angel, (Lucifer), not quite as nice as the Fallen Madonna with the Big ... ;) but in any case, that is very helpful, I can see now that the ground is a little higher there.

I don’t know. I saw one Tigre fly to Colmenar (ads-b), so the army seems to be flying from there. The others I don’t know.

Madrid, 09:25. Light rain, low clouds. The crowds thronging towards the Paseo del Prado tell me that the street parade will go on but I am not sure about the flypast :(

From a local news site:

“The aerial parade is canceled due to the persistent rain that falls on Madrid. On the other hand, both the passage of the Patrulla Águila and the descent of the national flag by parachute are maintained. The land parade also remains scheduled.”

Unsurprisingly, the flypast by the Patrulla Águila and the parachute flag drop were also cancelled.
