While checking my logs, I ran into some inconsistency with the Cathay Pacific A330s, where there seems to be some disagreement on the exact sub types, specifically in the B-LA* range.
Some background.
The main difference between an A330-342 and -343 variant, are the engines. The -342 has the Rolls-Royce Trent 772-60, while the -343 has the Trent 772B-60 (or Trent 772C-60, but those are not relevant for below).
From what I understand, the additional letters have below meaning.
X - increased MTOW, because the center fuel tank was activated (indeed, not added, just activated), so eXtra range.
E - Enhanced version, like improved air conditioning, cabin communication, entertainment system, etc, but no structural changes.
As far as I'm aware, there are no external differences.
Those letters are (I think) only marketing designations, and are not part of the Type Certificates - hence many sources choose not to mention them either - but I like to have them added
But looking at different sites, they all have their own version, see below overview, limited to the airframes still used by Cathay. Even ignoring the suffix letter, there is no clear agreement on which are -342 or -343 versions.
Anybody who has the correct version

* rzjets has the B-LAA as a -342, but on the same page the engines are given as the Trent 772B-60, which means it should be a -343.
