Rzeszow area stored/preserved birds Jan 2025

Post by VH3D »

Hi

Week ago I was in the Rzeszow area and decided to collect some stored frames. At Rzeszow airport I got lucky and caught Atlas Air B744 with Apexlogistics titles - and shortly after Air Europa 788 departed.

Also right around the airport you have two planes on a stick. AN-2 in front of the terminal and PZL-104 in front of the Aeroclub's hangar

(These two shots were taken on a previous visit)

In town you have 3 places where you can find stored/preserved airplanes. First location is Politechnika Rzeszowska. Aviation section of the university apparently has 5 or 6 airplanes inside of the building. I did not go in, and only shot what is visible from the publicly available spots.
PZL M-20 in front of the school and MiG-23 inside of the courtyard.

The second place is literally 3 minutes driving distance from the school.

British registered AS365 placed in front of another technical school in Rzeszow. Easily accessible from the sidewalk and visible from the main street.

The last place is the military museum of Rzeszow. Located not far from the train station. You can find there handful of airplanes such us SU-22, TS-11, AN-2, Lim-2, MiG-21, PZL-110. Last time I was there they were tightly packed and hard to shoot.
(one example shot from previous visit)

Next stop private airfield outside Rzeszow with nice collection of military planes.

The next stop was Bauerówka Airfield. Village located about 20 minutes West from downtown Rzeszow. The owner of the airfield has a collection of old surplus Polish Air Force planes + ex LOT IL-18.
On his FB page there is info that you should give him a call or send him a message if you'd like to have permission to wander the airfield.
I did that and he was happy to let me roam around the airplanes.
Everything that once flew and was outside the hangar was photographed. Since there was nobody on the field, I don't know what I have missed inside of the hangar.
