Ukraine now has access to Mirage fighter jets from France, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced on X.
"The first ones arrived in Ukraine today. With the help of Ukrainian pilots who have been trained for several months in France, they will now participate in the defense of the skies over Ukraine," Lecornu wrote.
It has not yet been officially announced how many Mirage 2000 planes will be delivered. According to budget documents in the National Assembly, there will be a total of six planes, reports the AFP news agency.
According to the AP, Ukraine has also received more F16 planes from the Netherlands, according to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, which does not specify how many.
Ukraine has previously received American F16 planes from Denmark and the Netherlands.
