Staying in the nearby Hotel Airport View, which is some 600 yards from the threshold of runway 36R, with a partial view of the military ramp and Kadena runway 05 approach, one can easily spot from the confines of here (the 9th floor is highly recommended). There are nearby restaurants and a Family Mart convienience store, and the nearby area offers different angles for photography of runway 36 arrivals and departures. Howeber all commercial arrivals and military fixed-wing arrivals are on runway 36 left, which od off the coast.
