And now it’s up to you, our readers, to further improve the content of the Wiki. Do not think you can’t publish an article because there is no corresponding category (at the time, we have six categories (Civil Aviation, Military Aviation, Non-ops Aircraft, Aviation by Country, Aircraft Manufacturers and Aircraft Types) divided into sub categories, covering the aspects of Aviation). If you think you have an article ready to be published on the Wiki, go ahead and do so. If the category is not yet there, create it, or, if that proves to be difficult, ask us, the Wiki sysop team, to give you a hand creating it for, or with, you.Main page wrote: New to Wiki's
A Wiki is an encyclopedia written collaboratively by many of its readers. Lots of people are constantly improving Wiki's all over the world, making thousands of changes an hour. Inappropriate changes are usually removed quickly.
We know it takes a bit of time getting used to, but the Wiki markup language is easy to understand and learn. There is some help provided on the Help pages of the Wiki, and if that proves to little, you can always refer to the original Wikipedia for more help. Even in your own language. Or, you can ask us in the appropriate forum on the Scramble Message board.Main page wrote: Don't be afraid to edit articles—anyone can edit, and we encourage you to be bold (but please don't vandalize)! Find something that can be improved, either in content, grammar or formatting, and fix it. Just remember you have to stay neutral!.
This Wiki uses its own markup language. This may seem very complex at first glance, but when you take a couple of minutes to look at the appropriate help page you can start editing very quickly. With regards to Wikipedia itself, a more extensive introduction on editing Articles can be found here. For experimenting with the Markup language we encourage you to use the sandbox. And remember to frequently use the 'Show preview' button as soon as you start editing 'real Articles'.
Now it is up to you, readers and editors, to go ahead and write articles, edit existing articles, upload photographs, unit emblems etc, to make Scramble’s Aviation Wiki the Aviation information source on the Internet.
Regards,
The Wiki sysop team.
PS: It is not neccesary to open a new account for the Wiki if you have one here on the forum already. You can use that to log on to the Wiki.
