evhest wrote:Thankfully the weatherforecasts are horribly wrong sometimes. The predictions for saturday at Kecskemét were exceptionally bad, but also exceptionally wrong. Quite a bit of sun, 26 degrees and not a drop of rain to be seen, despite a ''hundred'' percent chance of rain. Nice show with a lot of Gripens and a decent amount of MiG29's.
Indeed a nice show, especially if you recon ALL Gripens were present (assuming 39, 40 and 41 are not yet delivered), ALL 19 L39s were on base and visible and almost all MiG29s (I counted 21 with at least 2 still unread). Add the nice foreign visitors and the weather and you come to a perfect show. Absolutely one of the best I have been to in the past 10 years.
I didn't see all of them, but which ones do you need? The ones that were visible from the northern end the crowd area were 06 and 08. Where were all the others?
Did you get two Mi's under the camnouflage netting? We forgot to read them off.
In de sheds on the far end of the runway (near the Red Bull Cobra) were at least two MiGs plus one parked between them. I think one of these was the 18, the other two I need.
The rest of the MiGs were parked in dispersals near the Gripen line up. The 06 and 08 were two of them, but if you walked out of the field, all the way along the fence you could see many MiGs parked. We read at least 14 there, but I wouldn´t be surprised if there were a couple more.
14 Stored at west side
06 was followed by 2 including 12
08 was followed by 6 including a dual
and at the end were 4 including 2 duals
Can anyone confirm that the '20' was stored here?
4 on field
1 stored on field near the L.39 line the 23 under camouflage-net
1 in a hangar MiG.29 (believe the 03)
1 on static a MiG2.9UB
1 on flight line a MiG2.9UB
5 on east side
2 between sheds and 1 in each off the 3 sheds
2 of them being 10 and 18, the 2 that flew the 18 was between the two most northern sheds.
Hope somebody can give some numbers especially for the 3 in the sheds.
In the area of the MiG.29 was also a MiG.21 preserved/stored anyone for that number?
Do this at work so don't have alle the numbers with me, just a few in my head
MiG-29s we saw. I think there are some differences with Canberra TT18, but all together we can solve it

Still unknown:
2 MiGs in the sheds, there were three, with the one closest to the crowd line not sure if there was one in it. The other two had one in.
1 MiG parked between the two with MiGs in them.
Knowing they had only 28 (13 doesn´t exist), two have crashed (02, 17) there should still be 26 around. I wouldn´t be surprised if all of these were present this weekend....
I'm sure there were 3 MiG.29 in the sheds. I walked around the entry field on saterday! From the other side you could look straight in the 3 sheds. And there was one in each and two between teh sheds.
Ehusmann I don't understand you saw 18 flying but 10 not! They flew together, well on saterday they did! You saw 10 at the west end with the stored ones?
And Crizz you have pictures of all the strored ones?
I can understand why we didn´t see them both
We only arrived after lunch, the demo of them both was in the morning. Later on the day, 18 gave a solo display.
I am also sure you are right about the sheds. We did see something in the last shed, but I cannot be sure. I am just wondering if the 10 and 18 are part of these in/between the sheds. because if not, we are counting 26 already!
I can't really say for sure, but after its solo display, Mig-29 18 was taxiing away towards the far end of the runway (the starting end of the runway). Although not comletely sure, I think that was in the direction of the sheds...

Does somebody have a complete LOG from saturday.
The reason is that i left my book in the hotel.
I know most people say this because they wont want to note the numbers themself. But for me numbers are first and then pictures.
A superb show especially counting all the stored Migs. Surprised to see that people walked round when buses were running up and down the western area from the end of the static, we managed to get all of them recorded on paper and still have to check out the photos. We would also be interested in the silver Mig-21 behind the Mig-29s revetments. Plus the second Mil-8 under netting stored, the first was 10430, if I remember right.
We also counted 3 29s in and around the three eastern sheds.
We also went past on Sunday on the way to Szolnok and if anyone can help us with the flypast aircraft that would be great as we were unable to stop and read the Yaks, flying Hind & Hip, An-26s and Albatrosses. Reckon they were mostly what we saw later at Szolnok tying up with Erwin's great report obviously from on base.

For Shibumi and everyone else who would like to know the log from the GREAT show at Kecskemet. For sure this is one of the best shows I have been to lately. Combined with a quick look at Szolnok, the Szolnok museum, Budapest museum, Budapest-Ferihegy and 2 CRJ flights, it was a great weekend out for the boys!

05, 12 MiG-29 in the dispersals
And of course the flypast which we missed
On Sunday we saw the following leaving/arriving from Szolnok for the flypast (please take this carefully, I am not 100% sure of the numbers, didn't mark them in my log)
02, 05, 11 Yak-52
707 +1 Mi-17
110, 407 (or 405, don't remember) An-26
335, 582, 716 Mi-24 (of which the 335 circled around Szolnok, without leaving)
Can anyone tell me the second Mi-17?
Of course, any additions or corrections are appreciated. I know we missed some things (Belgian A109, Serbian G-2), but the above is most of it already.
