Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

MVK Nordholz - basevisit

Post by Iwan Bogels »

Hi everybody,

Yesterday I was able to visit Nordholz because of the fantastic efforts of Gijs ten Velde (Mr. GRAS). As I grew up at MVK Valkenburg, home of the Dutch P-3 Orions, I was quite sentimental about this visit. And with sentimental feelings cames sentimental weather......

The visit lasted 1,5 hours and produced a limited number of photo opportunities. Outside were two P-3C Orions, three Super Lynx and two Do-228. Unfortunately we had to stay away from the ELINT Atlantic.

Hope you like the shots, despite of the weather.

Cheers,
Iwan

Thanks Bianca,

The flying Lynx was shot with a Canon EF 300mm/f2.8L + Canon EF 1.4x Extender, mounted on a Canon EOS-1D Mark II (1.3x magnification factor). Using shutterspeed priority, the camera was set at 1/800 and ISO 200, which required a f7.1 apperture. No over or under exposure was set.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Iwan

Hi Iwan,
I asume post processing as usual: overlay & sharpening with high pass. The colour are quite bright for a cloudy day.

Marc.
