ALAT TBM.700 wearing (City) names

Post by Wijgert IJlst »

Hello All,

Not seen this reported yet. During RIAT 2007 I noticed again that a ALAT TBM.700 was wearing a name of a location on the nose of the aircraft. I have asked the crew more about this, they confirmed that they have the intention to give all ALAT TBM.700 in service a name of a place (city/country) that they have visited with a TBM (or Cessna 406 earlier).
One of the pilots helped me with making a list of the names connected to the tactical codes, currently the list is as follows:

ABO = Oslo
ABP = Praha
ABQ = Quebec
ABR = Reykjavik
ABS = Sarajevo
ABT = Tanger
ABU = Ukraine
ABV = - (currently wears "Paris Airshow 2001" on both sides)
ABW = -
ABX = -
ABY = -
ABZ = -
It was not known yet what names the ex-Adl'A (new for ALAT) would receive in the future. According to the crew not all the new onces had been delivered yet during the time of RIAT 2007. The last was expected by the end of this year.

If some one can add any new names to this list, please feel free to do so.

Kind regards,

Wijgert

V should normally be "VARSOVIE" according to this topic:

I've seen ABW two weeks ago, but can't find a name on the pictures. Can you tell where the name can be found?
Enjoy!

On oct 20 2005 I sent the email below to mil@scramble.nl, but apparently nothing happened or this knowledge wasn't used .......
This system existed already since ~2003.
