TLP today - all shades of Grey

Post by Iwan Bogels »

Hi everybody,

Today was a just another "typical Florennes weather" day.

On the way from Holland the skies were clear blue, all the way from Schiphol until Brussels. But just 10 kilometers past Brussels I ran into a fog bank which didn't clear until Florennes.

Arriving at about 10.00 hrs, heavy fog remained until lunchtime, after which the sun slowly did its job. Visibility increased, but the skies remained greyish during take off. During the landing sycle weather deteriorated rapidly, resulting in all shades of grey. Perfect colors to match the Tornado, Harrier, F-16 and Hornet camouflage..... YEACH !

Nevertheless I did pull out the camera and shot a few aircraft. Below you will find two of my best results (which still look horrible to me).

Cheers,
Iwan

Both couples of German and British Tornados did a nice take off, initiating a steep climb out almost right in front of us.

Hey Jaco, this is what you "missed" from your position during the landing cycle.....

You made some nice shots for the weather IWan. I was at 08 with just a few cars, and we heard that there were loads at 26 at 12.30.

Allright, it was the most terrible weather to shoot in as Iwan said, but to give you an impression of those conditions... here some shots, 2nd time to try out my bigma and oh no what a weather.. well that's a spotter's life.

Yeh Iwan.....I allready thought you were doing some of those shots, instead of shots from the wheel housings.

I hope you were going for the wheel housings :) to avoid postings like this with your shots.
:)

Iwan, the F-4 shot is great.
