patrick dirksen wrote:Interesting! Indeed ATDB gives ex RA-76715 and Ukrain AF 76715, but the Airframes.org database gives ex RA-76716 and no other history. I hope I should believe the first one!
Can somebody confirm which one is right?
Airframes.org actually gives UR-76716 (not RA-76716) as ex registration but that should be cn0073474211 still current as UR-76716 (although stored??)
I don't have any doubt that UR-UCA is ex (UR-76715, CCCP-76715) there is not 100% consensus on online sources about it's Ukraine AF past though (possibly allocated to the AF but never taken into use). Maybe someone with the ‘Soviet Transports’ in hand could check??

Hope this helps, Michael

Jimmy

Of course. Latest update:

UR-UCA is 0073479394 of Ukraine Cargo Airways, was a/w,n/t for some time.
Ex UR-76715 in Aerflot c/s without titles, based Melitopol and operated by Azov Avia.
Before that, CCCP-76715 of the Soviet AF, in Aeroflot c/s.

So Patrick, although I fail to see how an Il-76 is only interesting because it was used by the military twenty years ago, I think you can be happy. 8)

For the record, UR-71716 is 0073474211 and was reported in August 2003 as RA- and Russian AF, but this is doubtful.
However, it does have a mil past too, as it was CCCP-76716 of the Soviet AF initially, in the well-known Aerflot c/s.

Well according to ATDB.org you are lucky!

CCCP-76715 with Aeroflot (if that counts a mil I will leave to you)
But after that it became 76715 with the Ukranian AF (notes are it was unused by the AF though).
Later it became cilivian as UR-76715 and later UR-UCA

Hi,

Maybe a small though not unimportant detail is that http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.s ... entry=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is showing both an IL-76TD as well as an IL-76MD with registration UR-UCA.

As the MD is the military variant (originally with the tailgun) it is highly likely that this was previously a military aircraft. On the other side with the TD being the civil variant, it is highly unlikely that this was ever a military aircraft!

Greetings, Paul

By now some IL-76MD's have been converted to IL-76TD's by removing the gunners position and IL-76MD electronics to IL-76TD standard. By early 2000 only a few aircraft were equipped with 'TCAS', an anti-collision device needed to fly into the West from January 1st 2002.

credit: the holy bible Soviet Transport

Dus de UR-UCA is tegenwoording een 'gewone' IL-76TD
