Hello all,
After visiting Florennes for the TLP on 18-10 we drove back via the little airfield of Namur-Temploux. Here the following was seen:
BA03 Mirage 5BA pr, 8 sm mks
FR30 RF-84F pr, 42 sm mks
FU51 F-84F pr, 1 & 2 sm mks
OO-CEK L-4J ex 44-80464
OO-LED SV.4C ex FAF 388
D-EMER L-4J ex 45-4470
D-3438 ASK.13 ex Air Cadets PL66
G-CBSS Yak-52 c/n 833707, ex DOSAAF 121 (which colour?)
G-ZYAK Yak-52 c/n 877415, ex DOSAAF 27 ye
RA-1453K Yak-52 c/n 899409, ex DOSAAF 21 ye
RA-2005K Yak-50 c/n 801807, is this ex mil?
The German Cub lives in the first large hangar, the Yaks (apart from G-ZYAK) in the second one. In one of the small private hangars another yellow Cub was seen, which we couldn't identify. As it also wasn't on the clubs register it escaped identification at all unfortunately. It is in the usual Piper yellow, with a Belgian registration, but as this is carried on the rudder instead of the fuselage we could only see the "OO-" bit. It was a Cub, not a Super Cub by the way. Anybody with a recent list of Belgian registered Cubs please??
The G-ZYAK is a new arrival, it actually landed at Namur only two days ago, and will stay here. The German Cub is in EMOOS as "stored" but that's incorrect, it doesn't fly too often but still a few times a year (piloted by an old German pilot, who used to be in the Luftwaffe in "those" days....). Note that the ASK.13 glider has been reregistered from OO-YBV by the way. Also present were SV.4 OO-LEE (c/n 99) and Pa.18 OO-VVD (c/n 18-8304) which both only have a civil history afaik.
Finally L-18C OO-ACK, the former BAF L-72, is expected back here soon, and will stay. This bird has been under restoration for a long time, but is almost ready to take to the air again. Not present were L-18C OO-GDE (ex L-32) and L-21B OO-USA (ex KLu R-134). If I remember correctly OO-USA had left to another airfield in the area, and OO-GDE was supposed to be here still. The two Super Cubs with American registration that EMOOS give here (N35AG and N66AG) were totally unknown by our guide! And as he was manning the tower and showed us the logbooks with all aircraft present I guess those have been gone for some time. According to the FAA N35AG has been deregistered as exported to Belgium, so no longer airworthy or reregistered? N66AG (ex BAF L42) was supposed to be stored here apparently; this is still on the FAA register but not present anymore.
Hope this is of some use; any help on the missing bits is very welcome!
That's all folks!
