Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Dusseldorf 6-1-2008, Turkish Invasion and late sun...

Post by Polecat »

First spotting/shooting of the year, the sunny spells came a bit later than anticipated, but still some nice a/c.
As it was both the end of the German Sylvester holidays with many Germans returning from a short holiday, as well as Hadj-going people returning there were quite a few Turkish planes today!

The day started with weird light, it looked as if it would clear up soon, unfortunately that didn't happen...
First Holiday Turk was Sky..(with Dutch URL on the fuselage..)

followed by a couple of Pegasus Boeings, TC-APF and TC-AAE,

..and than there's Sun Express ofcourse...with TC-SUL and TC-SUU,

and ofcourse Turkish Airlines scheduled service with TC-JFZ and TC-JGF.

Nice surprise was this Airbus with "Die Maus". This "Sendung mit der Maus" (Mouse Show) is an educational German Childrens' television show and years ago they filmed the construction of an Airbus. Ever since, the Mouse has been on the plane featured in the show which was to become D-AIRY.
Who says Germans don't have humor!? Never seen a KLM plane with kiddy things for prolonged period.... Well done Lufthansa!

Small Highlight was Tupolev... had been a while for me..

Hadn't seen this one as DUS before either.. Still a very cool c/s!

Iberia is painting endangered/protected local animal species on the Airbuses.. Collect them all!

and than, finally the first rays of sun..
Image
I still like the Aeroflot c/s a lot, and this one made a nice slow landing due to a cold and strong SWwind..

Some bizjets as always...
Image
Very smart looking G-FECR...
Image

really hate the fact that this one is not 100% sharp..still like the pic though..
Image

As it got later the sun got really low, making nice landing pictures with the light shining in the engines and one the flaps..

This one was new for me as well... since late june I've been able to photograph 7 different Tu-154's at Dusseldorf, not a bad score if you ask me ...
