Just twigged that there is no PH-BVE - any particular reason that anyone knows? Or do they plan to slip a leased 773 in that slot?

Probably because PH-BVE already was an plane.
PH-BVE Cessna 172R 172-80188 St. Vliegmaterieel Rotterdam 12nov07 Out of register Verongelukt 19-10-2007 Lelystad (mid air collision with PH-JEJ, crashed and destroyed by fire). (From the Scramble PH- database)

This months "Op de Bok" (monthly publication of the VNV, the dutch airline pilots association) includes an interview with Martinair's management team:

"Ons streven is dat de Airbus A330-200 in het laatste kwartaal zijn entree gaat doen."

It says they intend to operate the A330-200 with 325 seats before the end of the year, 2 aircraft in Q4 2008, 2 in Q1 2009, and 3 in Q2 2009.

Don't quite understand you question, but AFAIK all aircraft are planned to be sourced from AFR but that might depend on if AFR/KLM is able to take-over MPH.

I meant if Martinair is going to buy its aircraft from another airliner in stead of directly from Airbus.

They use on the 767 and MD11 PW's. The 747's have GE. But i think in the view of being completly taken over by AF/KLM, they will have the same eninges as the AF/KLm fleet. So probalby GE's.

The 744's of MP fly with PW PW4056 engines. So all PW engines in the fleet except MCN wich has GE CF6 engines.

The idea that they would come from AF is also strange when you consider that the remaining 777s (300s and freighters) they have on order, together with the 380s, are to replace the 747s in their fleet. Also, AF have 16 330s, so that would leave 6 unaccounted for. Against that however 330s are pretty popular at the moment, so unless MP have some reserved already somewhere they could face quite a challenge to assemble a fleet any time soon (ie before 2009 at the earliest).

Interestingly a Dutch-based company ordered 10 330-200s in May 2007 - Aercap, the leasing firm. Coincidence? I haven't managed to find the planned delivery schedule for them, so can't draw any firm conclusions.

The interview in the VNV magazine seems pretty clear, so they must have got something sorted out!
