I went to Schiphol to find out for myself what photo-possibilities there are around the airport.
Thanks to the excellent map and description of the scramble-team and a number of detailed google-earth prints taped together I was able to visit most spots. I always used to go straight for the 06-24 place, so for the first time I drove around and did some other spots. These pics were all taken from the new spottersplaats with a 80-200 lens and all late afternoon.
A 747 from the side is only 65mm! (digital ofcourse, so below 100mm analogue) allowing nice detailshots
Personally I found this one of the more intersting aircraft, but okay, I'm not a Schiphol regular....
The MP was quite active in sending people away who thought they were a bit "more equal" than other people....
Although in my opinion late afternoon one can make decent pictures there I must agree with critics who say the quality of the planes landing there is moderate. Loads of KLM, Martinair, Transavia, BMI and Easyjet, whilst more interesting aircraft landed on other runways...
Still, they make nice pics for the not so frequent Schiphol visitor....
