Hello all,
Although already two months ago, I think this can still be useful. After all, most of those aircraft don't move around a lot....
We finally had an appointment with mr Piet Smedts at Baarlo, and used the opportunity to fill another few gaps in the south of our country.
Since I had to work on Friday evening it was a very, very short night, but tours are only done on Saturday morning so we didn't have a choice. And it definately was worth it! To make an appointment see here:

We had a very nice visit here, with mr Smedts as our tour guide. All aircraft were shown and photographed with nice weather as well. A group of six had cancelled because they "didn't like the weather"; I don't know what they expected?
Anyway, the MiG-21 and G.91 destined for Greece will be traded for an NF-5. This deal is taking much time, but it seems all paperwork has been done by now and the NF-5 will arrive shortly. Also expected are a German Tornado arriving from Fassberg (should be 44+50) and a twinseater Mirage III from Montelimar (traded for Alpha Jet 40+18 ). The only twinseaters there are 223 and 235, which one will it be.....
Luckily I had asked about Belgian Islander B05 at Kessel in my emails! Normally he would have skipped the Kessel part for such a small group (it was only the two of us), but since he had promised we could get that one as well his nephew was sent to Kessel with us!

Also present were three Starfighter tails, which we identified as 21+78 (c/n 7047, xxx mks), 26+30 (c/n 9182, LVR 1 mks) and finally either 24+82 (c/n 8232) or 24+88 (c/n 8238). This last one had JBG 31 mks, and the last digit of the c/n was very difficult to read. Any confirmation would be welcome!
inside:
B05/LE BN-2A-21 std, SLV mks
593 MiG-23MF being painted, ex 20+09, c/n 13352
And here again a lot of Starfighter tails. We managed to identify four of them: 23+09 (c/n 7192, MFG 2 mks), 23+23 (c/n 7207, MFG 2 mks), 25+12 (c/n 8275, no mks) and 26+51 (c/n 7311, LVR 1 mks).
And that was it! Highlight for me was my last Islander, finally I got them all
After this very successful morning we spent the rest of teh day chasing some loose W&R, starting with Ommel.
Chaletpark Kraneven, Ommel (51º 25' 44.6" N, 5º 44' 14"E)
0403 MiG-21PF pr, unknown badge
Note the changed name (this used to be camping Oostappen)! Follow the signs for the Fair Play Casino, and you'll get to the chaletpark. Just before the entrance you'll see the MiG on their parking lot, covered with grass etcetera.
Van Kessel Porsche, Deurne (51º 27' 12.5" N, 5º 47' 46" E)
(317) TS-11bisB pr, yellow c/s
This is in the Fabrieksstraat, which runs parrallel to the railway.
Then a visit to the Liberty Park, a place Frank and myself both visited a long, long time ago when we were not real spotters yet.
Liberty Park, Overloon (51º 34' 13" N, 5º 57' 29" E)
B-69/FE876 AT-16ND pr, composite based on B-199
FR193/NO-L B-25D pr, 320 sq mks, also ex Dutch AF B-6
NH649/3W-F Spitfire LF.XIVe pr, 322 sq mks, real id Indian AF HS649
07 red MiG-21SPS pr, real id 898/22+39
This park is signposted from the A73. All aircraft are inside nowadays, so although you can enter the park when the musuem is closed you need to be there during opening hours to see the aircraft.
Then on to Venhorst.
Paintball Games, Venhorst (51º 37' 16" N, 5º 42' 35" E)
R-177 L-18C pr, real id ALAT 115607
OK-FIU Mi-2 pr, ex Czech B-2542
Coming form the N177 drive into the village, take immediately the first right (when you're in the village, not towards the little industrial estate that's just east of the village). Follow this road through the village, and after leaving it take the third left (Noordstraat, this is signposted). Follow this road for some 2.5 km, and the paintball site is on your left. The Mi-2 is easily visible just left of the entrance, for the Cub you have to look rather carefully on the right of the entrance. It is a bit modified, but you can see the tail sticking out of the bush. Both can be seen without entering the premises. Also present was a drone marked ML-102, and while we were photographning the stuff the PH-RPX flew overhead.
Volkel
D-8279 F-104G pr, 311 sq mks
Although I visited Volkel a few times obviously, I never got to the gate to see the preserved Starfighter. So this omission has finally been "repaired". The 104 is already visible from the N264. Also seen here were the D-KWIK (a Taifun 17E apparently) and medicopter PH-ELP.
Then we went on to nearby Mill.
Fitland, Mill (51º 41' 17" N, 5º 46' 41" E)
23+92 F-104G pr
(84+07) CH-53G std outside, white c/s, fuselage
94+51 Mi-2 pr
Both preserved aircraft are inside, hanging form the ceiling in the main sports hall. When we were there the centre was closed due to some special occasion, but we were able to see and read both aircraft from the left hand side through some windows. To get here coming from Volkel along the N264 take the road to Mill at the first roundabout, and follow this road till another roundabout. The Fitland centre is on the other side of this roundabout, a bit hidden behind the Des Werelds Restaurant.
Opleidingsrichting Mineurs, Reek (51º 43' 39.52" N, 5º 42' 22.02" E)
(P-224) F-84F GIA, no mks
P-312 F-84F GIA, real id P-229, 311 sq mks
Only recently I learned that those airframes are actually visible from outside, so we decided to go and get them before they might be scrapped. You never know.... The location is actually just south of Reek, on the other side of the N324. From the crossing of the N277 and N324 drive eastbound. Take the second right (at a roundabout, the Corridorweg), first left (Smitsweg), first right (just after a 90º bend left, Driehuizerweg), and follow this road till you get at the main entrance (here the road is called Zandvoortseweg by the way). Continue for some 150 meters, till the fence on your right turns away. Park your car here, and take the footpath that follows the fence. After a few hundred meters yuo have to climb the hills on yuor right and you'll see both F-84's without a problem. If you bring some stairs you can even graph them rather nicely!
We made one final stop, in Nijmegen.
Autohandel Kleyngeld, Nijmegen (51º 50' 52.38 N, 5º 48' 55.22 E)
(NL-505) D-18S pr
Although it has a nice sounding registration, I finally am convinced this is just a civil aircraft..... So it won't live into my own records, but for completeness sake I mention it here anyway. From the A50 take the A73 towards Nijmegen, go straight ahead at Neerbosch, take the first left (this is already the Hogelandseweg), follow it when the main road bends left, take the first right and at the end again right, the Beech is on yuor left hand side at the end of the road.
And after this we drove home again.
As always comments, additions and corrections are very welcome.
That's all folks!
