Reports that Biman has ordered 4 Boeing 777-300ER for delivery between July and August 2013 and 8 Boeing 787-8 for delivery between July and December 2017.

Today SAS announced that they will buy 13 CRJ 900NG's and 14 Q400NG's to replace the 27 Q400's that was grounded last Fall.
They also have options for a further 7 Q400 and 17 CRJ 900.
SAS will also receive 1 billion Swedish Kronor in compensation from Bombardier to cover part of the loss caused by the "old" Q400's.

The CRJ 900's will be operated by SAS and Estonian Air.
The Q400's will be operated by Widerøe and airBaltic.


Very bold by SAS to buy new Q400's. It will be interesting to what the press and the public will say. But maybe it helps that they will not be wearing SAS livery.

CIT Leasing has announced an order for 15 A32Xs and 5 A330-200s from Airbus.

Felix Airways, Yemen, has ordered 8 CRJ700NGs from Bombardier and taken options on an additional 3 aircraft.
The airline is a joint venture between Yemenia and local linvestors.

Bad news: the SATA Air Acores ATP´s are going to be replaced
Apparantly, SATA has ordered 2 DHC-8Q200 and 4 DHC-8Q400 (info in Portuguese).

If my Portuguese is not too bad, the first planes will be delivered in 2009, with the last in 2010. So if you haven´t flown the ATP yet, go get them in the Azores this summer!

One of the worst kept UFO orders of late:

Air Berlin (AB/BER), Germany, has confirmed that it has ordered 10 DHC-8-Q400s from Bombardier. These aircraft will be operated by Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (HE/LGW) on behalf of Air Berlin.

Leasing company AWAS has announced that it has ordered 6 A330-300s from Airbus, and that all of these aircraft have been placed with Singapore Airlines (SQ/SIA).

Bombardier Confirms Previously Unidentified Q400 Customer as Being Air Berlin

Toronto, March 26, 2008 - Bombardier Aerospace confirmed today that a firm order from a European airline for 10 Q400 turboprop aircraft plus 10 options, announced on October 23, 2007, was placed by Air Berlin PLC of Berlin, Germany. The airline had requested to remain unidentified at the time of the announcement.

All Nippon Airways is the first airline to place a definitive order for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet.
They have ordered an amount of 15 aircraft, with an option for another 10 aircraft.
The aircraft have to be delivered in 2013.

The Boeing Company today confirmed an order for three Next-Generation 737s by national flag carrier Turkmenistan Airlines.
The order for two 737-900ERs and one 737-700 is worth approximately $221 million at list prices.

Malaysia Airlines said Monday it will buy up to 55 Boeing 737-800 aircraft for $4.2 billion. The airline said it has placed firm orders for 35 737-800s, with options for another 20.

It will also take delivery of all six Airbus A380 aircraft it has ordered in 2011, with the first to be delivered in January and the last in August, the company said in a statement.
Malaysia Airlines has agreed on the amount of compensation it will receive for the delay in the delivery of its A380s, which were originally supposed to have been delivered between January 2007 and December 2008, the company said.

Philippine Airlines to buy 9 turbo prop planes at $150M

Philippine Airlines said on Thursday it would buy up to nine turbo-propeller aircraft manufactured by Canada's Bombardier to tap into growing tourist interest in the Southeast Asian archipelago.
PAL said the turbo prop fleet would consist of three 50-seater Q300s and six 76-seater Q400 aircraft at a cost of $150 million.
