Interception of 2 fighters nearby Roermond (NL)

Post by ea.wouters »

Today at 16:30 LT (Dutch) I saw nearby the city Roermond 3 contrails in the sky (offcourse) of a heavy jet while driving. The Heavy was in company of 2 fighters and just before the German border they broke away to the right. Has someone made a recording of this interception? I think it was a flight from the UK over TB6 to ETAR (Ramstein) Germany.

While driving over the A2 near "knooppunt Het Vonderen" this afternoon (I guess between 16:15 and 16:45) I also saw three aircraft contrails flying from the west to the east. Unfortunattely I couldn't see the types of aircaft.

Yep must be the same one. (inside joke so that's why the tunnels are closed, becouse of spotters looking to the sky instead of driving. :) )

Probably an aircraft at the Milgi - Navpi route which want to intercepted by Dutch F-16's or a request by the F-16's to intercept some aircraft for practice. This is very common although not often seen

Saw two F-16's coming over Zwolle from the north, so probably LWD Vipers.

I saw them too. It was a C-21 with 2 f-16's.

Some minutes before they also intercepted a c-17, heading west.

From Den Bosch I saw probably the same kind of interception at that time, 16.30 hrs. Looking back at the picture I took (deleted already) it clearly was a (K)DC10 wich was intercepted. The 2 F16's 'played' around for some time above Den Bosch, so could be that they intercepted quit some crossing traffic ...

It where no F-16's from KB .
At the moment of the intersept KB closed his runway .
So planes can be seen from a large distance.

Kind regards
