Report by an organiser of the Biggin Hill Air Day (who were also getting the Indian team) on UKAR this evening...

The Indian display team "The Suryakiran (Sun Ray)" have cancelled and are no longer coming to ILA due to logistical problems, in their place the Indians are sending the Sarang Helicopter Display team to ILA.

Oh well, hope they send a normal Dhruv too then, since this was originaly planned. They have a very neat colorscheme.

For the rest anything new? I seem not able to find any participant details on that weird site of ILA :)

Hm, I don't really understand what they mean with that last part of the sentence... :confie:
Just a shortage in different letters I think, They don't mean Factory, but the Antonov and Globemaster will be there to.

And to IrishAirPics:

There is now a kind of timeschedule at the site of ILA for all connections between the city and the show

aviodromefriend,

Thanks for posting the update on the transport. It seems like everything stops pretty soon after the show closing time, the show closes at 6pm and the last train / bus is at 7pm, what time then does the flying stop at?

Regards,

Frank.

Last time the Air power demo was ending the show and all the 10 (or so) Stallions landed. Then after a short break, the stallions fired back up and departed. The airfield was getting very empty after they left. but that was because of the rain I guess :) Just not sure how late it will be this time.

Thanks for that Fiddler, any idea what time the air power demo finished?

By the way, I see they have a shuttle bus going from Schonefeld to Tempelhof, this is good for me as I'm flying to Brussels from Tempelhof, but what are the crowds for the busses like? I read / heard that the public transport last time was a mess, is this true?

Thanks in advance,

Frank.

Hello all,

It has been brought to my attention that the full list of participating aircraft at the ILA 2008 can now be found at
http://www.ila-berlin.com/ila2008/airsh ... alle_e.cfm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .

As you can see the Slovakian Mig-29 is noted for its absence.

But Air Atlantique/Classic Flight will be showing off her Douglas DC-6 G-APSA in a rather spirited display!
:D
If B-17 Sally B also did a flying demo at Berlin this would look rather tame in comparison.

All newly added Hungarian aircraft will remain on the ground. No Mig but a Saab...

Whether Thielert will still show up with its diesel-engined aircraft remains to be seen in view of present financial difficulties... :?:

The Croatian team is also not on that list, but they are in thepress release from this morning as attending, so their list still needs some work, I suppose.

According to the ila website, flying should stop at 17.00 local, of course, at the day it can be later.

[quote="John Rambo"]According to the swiss airforce website the Patrouille Suisse and the F/A-18C Hornet demo will also be present at ILA 2008.

F-18 demo is cancelled due to an sportaccident of the demo-pilot :uhuh: . Now also on linked SAF-webtable.

Hi all,

on the list of participants, some PC-9's are mentioned, user is 'Ministry of Defence'. Does anybody where these PC-9's are coming from? These are not from the target-towing EIS, these are already mentioned on their site.

thanks,

Michel

Also think it's the croatian "Kril Oulje". six-ship display and seven aircraft on the list, also because at the list it says Air Display.
