This afternoon I was sitting in my garden and playing with my camera when I saw some aircraft flying in the direction of Schiphol (about 50km away). I quickly took my telelens to make some snapshots. I used 500mm, 1.4x converter and the camera's 1.3x cropfactor to get to 910mm effectively. The shots were taken holding everything in my hands, which was quite heavy.
I was very lucky that some of the aircraft flew really close to the moon which was visible. This is no Photoshop work but an actual picture without modifications.
By the way, I was surprised that these shots (while hand held with over 900mm) were still very sharp. The small texts "The Flying Dutchman" and "Royal Dutch Airlines" just below the dark line on the fuselage are sharp and readable.
