Iriru - enigma message monitored mutilated

Post by Radiomonitor »

08.05.16-1005z---Around a month ago I monitored a strange message on 11175 kHz OSB - the DISA HF Radio System. - It was a male voice, in English with American accent, - but obviously not spoken by a native America. - At first sight I did not catch the meaning. - It seems to be in clear text, but heavily abbreviated. - The Kyrgyzstan small village of Irisu is mentioned, and the coordinates correspond approximately to the coordinates of Irisu.

I received the message mutilated, due to transmitter's fading, and QRN...

Has any of the Scramble participants monitored the same message on 11175 kHz...?

here is the message particulars:

Voice Traffic on 11175kHz USB

clear non-crypted text

Hello Radiomonitor!

These are airways and waypoints

For example:

LAGAS = 41° 34' 19N 44° 13' 53E
LUSAL = 40° 34' 60N 47° 57' 0E
RODAR = 40° 28' 0N 51° 30' 0E
ABDAN = 38° 35' 42N 59° 22' 0E

UN644 = Northernmost track through Afghanistan to the Caspian and Black Sea.

I guess nothing abnormal, maybe just a regular CIA flight or AF1 with EDGE 66 :wink:
