LOG Belgium 15-5

Post by patrick dirksen »

Hi all,

A very busy period has started, but I'll try to post the interesting stuff in between our trips ;-)
We had an appointment at Goetsenhoven to see and photograph the gliders of the Luchtcadetten, and made some stops while underway.

01-0030 C-37A 310 AS

A nice start of the day! Both Gulfstreams were new for me, and also the Swiss Citation. Finally! The on towards Goetsenhoven.

PL95 G.103A Luchtcadetten, c/n 3575, ex D-6436

A very good visit. PL78, 87, 94 and 95 are flying from here, and I needed two of those. And to my enormous surprise there were two gliders on maintenance here, including my last one (PL33). That means I have all active Belgian aircraft at the moment! I know it won't last long (with CH14 coming, a few more new gliders, and so on) but still ;-))
The two stored Ka.8's have been sold, but have not been collected yet for some reason. PL64 is stored in a damaged condition, PL50 will be restored to display condition, and PL21 is going to be used as a travelling exhibit. LB03 had had heavy maintenance and was started up for the first time this day, LB01 was still having some mechanical problems and won't fly soon probably.

On the way back we made a quick stop at Antwerpen, to see if we could get the recently arrived Israelian Pipers.

OO-POU Pa.18 (c/n 18-7865) civil only?
? SV.4 std

And we did get them! 103 and 122 were stored in a barn, the other two are being worked on. All four have civil registrations allocated, but don't carry them yet. The Stampe is unknown according to the owner. And some info on the other aircraft that are mentioned in EMOOS:
SV.4 OO-SVG (ex V21) has moved to Brasschaat, is stored there and is still for sale
P.149 D-EARY (ex 90+43) should still be present. We were told it was with Flying Partners, but there they didn't know anything about this and we didn't get permission to enter their hangar. Who knows more?
S-11 OO-LMC (ex E-25) never lived here we were told, who knows the currecnt location?
Taylorcraft Plus OO-DCL (ex LB285) apparently went to a museum, who knows more?
N2S-3 N1035M (ex BuNo 07709) was never heard of here.

And then it was time to go home, just in time for work.
Another nice day out!

That's all folks!

Hi Patrick,

Good log, can the ex-IAF Pa-18s be seen/photographed from outside?

No, you have to get to the side with the small hangars. But we asked for permission at the security in the arrival hall, and that was no problem.

The two stored ones were, the other two not anymore. One was a bare frame that was being worked on, the other one just had the fabric removed which was lying on the ground next to the aircraft.
