Hi Melchior,

I'm looking for the serials of two Starfighters pole-mounted together at Cervia. Are these 6825 and 6880?

Cheers,

didn't you went to the dump where several starfighters should be? Or are the two starfighters from the dump? I got two other F-104S's + several (T)F-104G's three years ago.

F-104S preserved in Velletri

Post by Wijgert IJlst »

Velletri (town) 26-05-2008:
(MM6925)/RS-25 F-104S-ASAM preserved at Piazzale Palmiro Togliatti, along the Via Giuseppe di Vittorio. It's placed on a sokol on a triangular shaped plaza. It is close to the shopping mall and the sport stadium.

Actually this Startfighter only wears code "RS-25" on the outside, and both type and MM-nummer are not applied on the outside anymore.
Within the nosewheelbay there was an aluminium plate applied on the bulkhead (facing in flight direction) which stated "Customer number: 6925" Can anyone confirm this customer number refers to MM6925?
Kind Regards / Groeten,

Wijgert IJlst
