Pop-ups

Post by Rockville »

The last few days I'm experiencing pop-ups upon connecting to the forum.
Is that SOP?

I have had that once in the past.

No idea if you have the same, but with me some adware program had escaped McAfee. Was successfully removed with lavasofts free ad-aware program.

The kind of pop-ups I can't tell tou, as they are blocked by my anti-virus programme.
The system gives me a warning that pop-ups heve been blocked.

Couldn't it just be the well-known notice that you've received a private message? These are blocked by my browser as well.

Well, in short: 'popups when connection to the forum' is not SOP, apart from the PM warning mentioned by Ard. This one is controlled in your profile (Pop up window on new Private Message) and you can tell your browser to allow pop-ups from this website if you want to use it. That is my setting and I never have any other than the PM warning.
But without more precise info there is little telling what you have. Be aware that references made to anti-virus programs and AdAware concern things happening on the user's computer, not our website.
