Bratislava (LZIB/BTS) - 2008

Post by E-R-I-C »

Hi,

Tomorrow and sunday we will go to Vienna for the Euro 2008 final.

We also want to go to Bratislava, is there somebody with some spotting information about this airport?

Thanks,
Eric

Don't get your hopes too high, though... it's a small field with only 1 runway; very comparable to Eindhoven, Niederrhein or Rotterdam; not too much traffic as well... been there 2 years ago while on vacation in Austria; if you are looking for a lot of traffic then it's better to stay in Vienna ;)

This is the official site of the airport. There is a direct connection by bus between the Bratislava and Vienna airports; travel time is about 1 to 1,5 hours

Don't forget both Air Slovakia 757's

BTS is a nice airport for a short visit, but you have to be lucky.
The airport was used to park some executive jets for the match between Spain and Germany in Vienna.

Hi all,

went with father to Bratislava to stock up with japanese food
yesterday, and since the airport is on the way, I asked him to stop
there for a coupl of minutes, just to write down what was on the main
apron and at the area, where bizjets park.

Not much to note, however got two new bizjets, the Gulf and the
Hawker. All in all, it was worth to stop there.

Unfortunately probably no more spotting this year, however next February I will most probably visit Washington and London, which will be the first trip in 2009 I think. It all depends on whether I book it today or not. Just to let those who doesnt know it, there is a US Airways offer for 150EUR to Washington with 2 or 3 stops each way, giving some nice oppurtunities of spotting in transit also. Departure is from Dublin, but combined with RYR it can be had for 150EUR :D

Best regards, Keishi
