Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).
Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.
yesterday I was thinking about California, so I took out my raw file of my visit to NAS Lemoore in October 2007 and I started searching for some shots that I didn't work before.
Its still possible to plan base visits?, even after the `01 happening

A tip for you,
Go to Florida
Having Eglin, Pensacola, Tyndal, Whiting Field, Hurburt Field, Duke Field and such all within about 1-4 hours from eachother is great
Hi Spook,
thank you for your tips...anyway last year I was also in Pensacola and you can find the full report at this direct link: http://www.spottermagazine.com/N.A.S.-Pensacola.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
After the 09/11 is still possible to arrange visits, personally I go through the US NAVY CHINFO in Washington first, and then after get the approval from them, I mean that they check your creditials as media, I start contact the differents NAS's PAOs.
in `93 when noone was paranoid, so you just wrote to a base, adressed to the PBO and waited for a reply.
Me and my Buddy wrote to about 20-30 squadrons (stayed in the USA for 4 weeks), and just waited for a reply.
We got invites from about 13-15 of `m.
I walked around the Eglin Test area (with the OT/ET planes) with my camera like it was nothing...
Same with Hurburt field, we didnt even get a ID check at the gate, we were just sent to the PBO office and had our names checked off the visitors list, and then we were let loose on the base.. with no escort.
And at the Dayton Airshow we got press passes just cos we wrote in if it was possible to enter the base to shoot the arrivals.
It was so easy back then.
