Spotting conditions Austria - 2008

Post by kmarrie »

I am planning a trip to Austria and like to visit the Fliegerhorst Linz and Tulln-Langenlebarn.
Unfortunately I can not find any information on the scramble site about the spotting conditions at those places.

Is there some one who can help me providing some info about those places, because I have no idear if I can photograph outsite to 2 fliegerhorsts. Any info is welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Both airfields have various vantagepoint witch provide you a open view of runway, and platforms. You can also get near the the approach end, this can give you the option to take pictures of landing aircraft.

Wijgert en Key,

danke schön.
Can anybody tell my if they are flying more waves a day, and more important howmany airplanes there are flying on a day. If i'm looking back in old log's on the messageboard I only see a maximum of 2 - 3 aircrafts on a day?

I found on the scramble site only those frequencies:
118.700 / 132.65 Tower Zeltweg
129.475 / 135.375 Radar Zeltweg

Can someone help me with more frequencies.

Pls mind the <img src="/forum/images/uk.gif"> ;)

The times I visited Zeltweg during regular operations, movements were scattered over the day. Not really waves but acft coming and going, both based and (Austrian mil) visitors. A mix of activity, slow hours in between. This was in the Draken era, not sure how that compares to the present eight Eurofighters delivered.
