Cool, by the way thanks for the info about caravaning :)

I'm not sure but, is this a very short list of dynamic display or what?

Well, I'll settle for that lot! Remember that the Hungarian Air Force will be puting on their own displays as well.

Does anybody know if there are still stored MIG-29s (or other types) on the field? If so, will they visible from inside the show area? I'm planning to go to the show on the Saturday only so if I need to see the stored aircraft from outside, I'd prefer to go round the fence on the Friday night.

Thanks in advance.

Camping will be in a parking (400 meters away from the entrance no. 2), water, power, mobil toilet will be provided. The camping will open at 3pm, August 15. Place reservation: rieger@t-online.hu or cell no. +36 20-330 8273.
One more question. Do we have to make a reservation for camper or is it recommended?

will be possible to pay with € currency for tickets and for food, drinks..?

I'm afraid that not. As far as I remember the prices are always in HUF.

Last year I saw several Fulcrums when I was taken by bus to visit the AWACS on the static, but these planes were around the HASs. :/

Thanks for the info.

Bearing in mind that I've not visited the site before, I've only got the airshow map (for the tribune) to go by. It looks as though almost all of the south side is open to the public. There are what looks like HASs at the western end of the field, within the show area. Are these the ones you mean? If so, is it possible to walk around these, or are they airside?

Sorry to ask so many questions, just wanting to make the best use of my time when I get there.

These are not within the show area, they're on the closed part of the airbase. It is forbidden to take pics in that area. MPs and police may patrol around there so I'd suggest not to take pics. The MPs and the police may even confiscate your camera.

Thanks for that very valuable advice! I'll make a point of not photographing in the forbidden area. :innocent:  (I'm really only interested in seeing the missing ones from the fleet anyway).

To help me get the full picture, can you (or anyone else) tell me where this area is located in relation to the crowd? In other words, is it behind the crowd among the buildings, to the left or right of crowdline or on the other side of the runway. :dontkno:

I'm really looking forward to the show - especially after the disappointment of Fairford's cancellation. My thanks to everyone who has provided info, in particular Tomcat_hun who has been most helpful to us all. (I'll happily buy you a beer or two if we meet - PM me with contact details if you have time to meet on the Saturday).

The shelter area with the stored MiG-29's is indeed on the west side of the base, south of the runway. You can get close to here in the public area, but you can't reach it unfortunately. But the good news is that all aircraft can be seen from outside (or at least that was possible in 2005)!
Have fun!
