It has some jaguar characteristics :P... but i know it's not one :(.... Maybe something for Volkel Next year? :)
It's a SOKO Orao of the Serbian Air Force. You never know with politics, but it just might be somewhat difficult given the (political) relations between the Netherlands and Serbia... something with the past...
Serbia seems to have a more cooperative attitude towards the tribunal in The Hague (see Karadzic being delivered to Rotterdam/Scheveningen), so maybe this problem can be overcome....

frank kramer wrote:I am interested in another perspective on the Mig29 storage: can anybody tell me what Mig29's were visible from the gate to the flightline on the left side of the static? The only one that could be read off from there was 03, but there were several others visible standing next to it. Anyone? Any help appreciated!
Hi Frank,

From the photos I took from the gate, I can read off 03 (the furthest out in line 3) with one at the other side of it which should be 05 (the furthest out in line 2). I can also read off 07 which was the furthest out in line 4) with the nose of a further one immediately on its tail - that makes it 16.

There are other noses and tails visible but its not possible for me to work out which is which.

BTW Thanks for the confirmation regarding the paradropping MI-8s. It must have been cozy inside! It looked like the first 10 to go out of each helicopter were static line drops which would make sense if they were standing while the second (higher) drops were free fall.

Belgian H31, if I remember correctly.
Thanks for the confirmation - that clears up one gap.

These were the main raeson of my visit this year, as I missed them during last years show.....

Pretty disappointing.....

The rest of the show was great!!! More fighter demo's than the last three KLU opendays!

Best regards, Rob.
Oh dear :!!!: I see from published photos that 05 seemed to be the solo - anyone there on the Sunday, able to confirm the others?

Hi all, I'll try to answer a few questions.

First of all, the Yak-52's didn't fly on saturday. I have seen them taking off on sunday from Szolnok for the airshow. Serials were: 02, 05 and 06. They took off all three together, what a beautiful sight was that!!

Regarding skydiving, I did quite a few jumps myself, and believe me, if a helicopter or airplane has place for ten seats, it'll have place for 30 skydivers, just squeeze in.... :D and the first paratroopers were staticliners indeed but they wouldn't stand upright the whole flight. Skydivers sit between eachother legs, that way most people can fit in the plane and it is the easiest way to stand up and jump out.

For this mig-29 storage area I can't help a lot. We walked around a lot and everytime when we read off a serial I noted that one down, I think number 22 was a pretty tough one to read off since it was the last one I noted down.

Well I hope this helps....

Cheers Hilco

Had to wait to get back home to check my paper log;

R44 was HA-HEL of Pest Helicopters (nice name if you want to attract customers, if you ask me  )

Very nice indeed - you've captured the whole atmosphere of the show, not just the individual aircaft. I loved the backseat guy in the Gripen with the mickey mouse mask - I missed that on the day.
