The Me.108 should be exchanged with a German Museum for the Yak-11 which was pressent at last year's openday. The Me.108 has been used by the FrenchAF, because the engine was French when it arrived at SzolnokAB. The aircraft has been overhauled completely by technicians of SzolnokAB (great job!!) I've heard that it was supposed to get a camo c/s.
I've got this info from a good friend of mine.

In that case, it MIGHT not be a "genuine" Messerschmitt Bf108. First production of the Bf108 was in Germany, but was transferred to occupied France in 1942 where some 100 were built by SNCAN (Nord) at Les Mureaux. After the war, they continued to build the type, but with French engines. They called that the Nord 1000 Pingouin. There were two more versions, both from after the war and with different engines: the Nord 1001 with the Renault 6Q-11 engine and the Nord 1002 with Renault 6Q-10. It is commonly accepted that the only "true" Bf108's were the ones produced by Messerschmitt in Germany before 1942 and the ones produced at SNCAN/Les Mureaux during the war. All later aircraft are, depending on what engine is installed, either Nord 1000, 1001 or 1002.

Bf.108 is N.1002 269
That would be my guess as well; that one used to be under restoration at the Szolnok museum. They indeed did a good job!
A few other questions answered:

-Sk.61 HA-TUV was checked for its c/n on Budaors, and was 190 which makes it former 61072
-the second L-39 parked near the Turkish Stars was 131
-inside the hangar were JAS.39's 31, 34 and 36, and MiG-29 24 (being dismantled)
-preserved with MiG-15 "1976" and MiG-19 "1976" was also MiG-21 "1978" (real id 909). Although EMOOS gives this as marked as 1977/1978 it really has 1978 on both sides by the way.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies on my questions....
Here (again) a question....

Can anyone identify this aircraft?? What kind of aircraft is it??
It has reg. YU-DOG, but searching on google or yahoo didn't help.

Is this a former Yugoslav AF aircraft or just a civil one in camo colors??

Any help is welcome!!

Thanks Mr. Hendriks and Frank for the info about the Me108 (Nord 1002), the two of you saved me another mail (in Magyar) to my contact, and my hungarian is not my strongest language.
So far I couldn't find any info about YU-DOG on Google, I've spoken with the pilots during the airshow. I just forgot to ask about the registration and the type of aircraft...........foolish me!
Better luck next time, lets hope someone got the original ID of that bird.

@ PIK Flyer,

We drove around the airbase and we saw it from the other end. And if I remember it correctly it was the hangar near the place where the turkish stars were parked. But don't know it for sure... We didn't see it on base though.

Hope this helps a bit...

cya,

Hilco
