Interesting stuff, love to see that B-18
So do I, but I don't think a Douglas B-18 Bolo will turn up... What aircraft is meant here, the A-26 Invader?

Indeed it is, this one:

Lisunov Li-2 has a new livery in Malev-colours since the beginning of this August, see

The Junkers JU-52 is supposed to arrive this Friday at about 15.30-ish.
Also see
https://secure.aviodrome.nl/rondvluchten/shop/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for ETDs of other aircraft.

Saturday will only see one DDA Dakota, to be joined by a second on the Sunday. Forgot which one(s).

Not sure whether the Lisunov will do sightseeing flights. If so, then payment will probably have to be done in cash on site. The prices quoted for the Dakotas are probably a good yardstick for interested punters...
Stratofreighter wrote:Hello all,

Some times are now known.

According to the latest information the Lisunov is supposed to make a flight on both Saturday and Sunday.
She will arrive at Lelystad this Friday at 15.15 hrs if all goes as planned, leaving again on Wednesday (!) at 10.15 hrs.

On Saturday the Scandinavian Historical Flight A-26 Invader will also visit Lelystad :D , taking off again on Sunday. No times available for now.

Unfortunately the French DC-3 had to cancel because of technical problems. :(

As already mentioned the DC-6 G-APSA will not come. The "Six" is a very expensive beast to rent and pay fuel for unfortunately  , enough to break many a budget.

The DC-2 will take off this Saturday afternoon :D (Sunday as well? Couldn't get this confirmed), the Constellation is not so lucky this time. There will be engine-runs both days though!

At the moment certification problems originating in the USA (through no fault of the Aviodrome I should stress :!: ) is keeping the C-121 on the ground. The people in Lelystad are now negotiating with the FAA to get things right.

If anyone has more updates, please do not hesitate to add them!

And I hope not too many people will behave like "free-loaders" by not paying a ticket to visit the Aviodrome. These kinds of events are not cheap to organise and run and the money has to come from somewhere... :!:

The google translation from Norwegian says enough :

New trip to Holland?

If interest is sufficient, we are trying a new trip to Fly-In in Lelystad in Holland 6 and 7. september.
Interested parties must sign up as soon as possible to Tore Hansen, call 988 40591

It is Dak-hits with more than one computer, and a great opportunity to visit the living flymuseet at the site.
Price about $ 4000, departing from Torp at 08.00 on Saturday 6.

Turleder: Tore Hansen, tel 988 40591

Not enough people with interest I think.

Regards Peter

If aviodrome increase the price for this kind of events, there will be more people to pay for a visit. 14.50 Euro is to much for a Fly in whit almost the usual planes, so they create the problem of free loaders by themself.

That's my opinion.

I have to admit that the "regular admission price" of 14.50 euros is a bit steep. There is no price increase for this event though.

But the fuel for these aircraft somehow has to be paid... :!:

Also see http://www.scramble.nl/forum/viewtopic. ... 501#194501" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and further on.
Yes, I hope this time photo-opportunities on the grounds of the Aviodrome itself will be to the liking of most visitors. But you can't please them all...

plus

During the Airshow 2004
from 14:00 onwards it was because the gates were opened and public was allowed to enter for for free just to get them inside so at least some money was made by the catering.
Food for thought...

But indeed this year unfortunately there is not a "crowd-puller" like the DC-6... :(
They DID again organise an event attended by several fuel-thirsty radials though!

The people who are friend of the aviodrome or having a "museumjaarkaart" have a free visit to the aviodrome . The other visitors who wants to come have to pay the normal price . In other museums it also normal that the visitors pay the normal price when there is a special event .

I think the aviodrome organisation had done there best to get some beautiful planes too the museum this weekend .

And maybe we will see the Uiver , Catalina of the Constellation on shows in other countries in the next season .

The reason why there is no airshow at Lelystad anymore, is because of the authorities at EHLE don't want to keep the field free for such an event, due to the normal traffic taking place there. It has nothing to do with finance (source: organisation Lelystad Airshow). That is also the reason why they held the Fly-in at the museum, instead of at the airport, not disrupting normal traffic too much.

BTW. The show preceeding 2004 (don't remember the year at this very moment) the police at EHLE told the public, that the organisation wanted them to watch the show from outside the field.
